Arts Council: Face to Fayetteville Works In Progress

Come face-to-face with the image-making process in an immersive public exhibit, Face to Fayetteville by Tim French on display at The Arts Council of Fayetteville beginning August 2nd. 

Open to the public through August, explore and examine artwork before it's finished. Delve into French’s “pentimenti,” the details that the artist changes before finishing the work.

“My mission as a visual artist is to contribute to the broad conversation of art in ways that deepen human empathy, bring pleasure to the viewer, and challenge an individual's assumptions about the world,” shared Tim French.

Aladdin's Hookah Lounge: Black Canvas Paint | Arts & Beats 

Arts & Beats All-White Day Party is slated to be an incredible full-day experience that combines art and music in a lively setting filled with creative vibes, and amazing musical sounds. 

Immerse yourself in the Cumberland County art scene at the urban art showcase curated by Black Canvas Paint and Empire Hospitality Group at Aladdin’s Hookah Lounge, on Sunday, August 25 at 5 p.m. The gallery features talented artists from all over North Carolina, live band performances, and R&B mashup DJ sets from DJ Wolf, Tommi Lee, and DJ King Viv.

Rosenthal Gallery: FSU African American Art Collection & Biennial Faculty Exhibition

Experience The African American Art Collection curated by Fayetteville State University in the Rosenthal Gallery opening August 19. The exhibit will be available to the public through September 20 to highlight paintings, prints, sculptures, and mixed media works by historically important modern and contemporary African American artists. 

The collection is a prominent way to preserve and share the contributions of African American artists in the landscape of American art.

Kick off the fall season through the enjoyment of the 2024 FSU Biennial Faculty Exhibition from October 1 through October 31 as it highlights the creative works of full-time and adjunct visual art faculty in the Department of Performing and Fine Arts at Fayetteville State University. 

The exhibit is a way to share the creative and innovative talent of art educators who remain practicing professional artists with the community and students. The exhibit includes paintings, prints, mixed media, ceramics, and digital works.

The exhibit will be open through October 17th and can be viewed Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
